Jaw Surgery
How teeth meet together and appear, often stems from discrepancies in how the upper and lower jaws meet. In most cases, it is a milder jaw discrepancy and the patient can be treated with orthodontics alone. In some patients where the jaw discrepancy is greater, jaw surgery is offered in combination with braces to achieve results, that are not possible with braces alone.
If patients select this type of treatment, much time is spent liaising with the maxillofacial surgeon and orthodontist to ensure that the treatment delivers the results the patients are after. Jaw surgery is often used to correct severe underbites, protrusion and openbites.
