Dr Linda Ton
Dr Linda Ton was born and raised in Brisbane and graduated with first class honours from the University of Queensland Dental School in 2000. She practiced in Sydney for a few years before returning to Brisbane to continue her study. Linda completed her 3-year Masters Degree in Orthodontics at the University of Queensland in 2006 and also attained her Membership in Orthodontics, with the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh in the same year.
Linda and her three children enjoy all that North Queensland has to offer. They especially love exploring the region on frequent road trips. She loves cooking (and eating!), entertaining friends, reading, fishing and travel.
Linda loves her role as an orthodontist, loving nothing more than developing that connection between patient and practitioner.
Dr Desmond Ong
Dr Desmond Ong was born and schooled on the Sunshine Coast and was “lucky” enough to have his high school formal held at the famous Big Pineapple! Desmond completed his general dental and specialist orthodontist training at the University of Queensland in Brisbane, which involved 8 years of full-time study!
Desmond greatly enjoys helping both children and adults achieve the healthy and beautiful smile they always wanted. He is passionate about orthodontic education and in addition to working in Townsville, he has worked part-time as a Clinical Academic in Orthodontics at the University of Queensland for over 10 years. In his academic role, Desmond teaches orthodontics for dental students and also helps train new specialist orthodontists. Desmond regularly conducts continuing education courses for dentists and has published numerous articles in scientific and dental journals.
Desmond has two young daughters (Ally and Niki), therefore he is also very familiar with all Disney movies, almost every “ABC for Kids” TV show and how important it is to be on time for cheerleading practice!
In a “past life” Desmond was an avid soccer player and a former state squad gymnast. He remains a passionate supporter of the Brisbane Broncos, the Hawthorn Hawks and Manchester United.
Dr Jane Harding
Dr Jane Harding grew up and went to school in Hervey Bay before completing her general dental training at Griffith University on the Gold Coast where she was an inaugural member of the Griffith Honours College. Relocating to North Queensland she worked as a general dentist on the Atherton Tablelands and in Townsville for 5 years.
Realising that her passion lay in Orthodontics, Jane decided to move once again to Perth, Western Australia where she completed 3 years of full-time study at The University of Western Australia to graduate as a Specialist Orthodontist. While at the University of Western Australia, Jane undertook research looking at three-dimension digital surgical planning and outcomes in combined orthodontic-surgical patients.
Jane has always called Queensland home, so following graduation returned and joined Townsville Orthodontic Specialists working part time.
Jane loves the North Queensland lifestyle and weather and when she isn’t working enjoys climbing Castle Hill, cooking, travelling and spending time with family and friends.
